For any of you that have not read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins…You are missing out on some intriguing reads that will make you want to stay up to the wee hours! I must admit, a few months ago, I begrudgingly began to read The Hunger Games after being sidelined with stitches. Forced to sit with my foot up, I asked the girls at the shop to bring me a few books, included in the bag was the The Hunger Games. I glanced at it but was skeptical because the “American Idol meets Survivor” vibe I got from it just didn’t seem like my kind of book. I would have missed such a fantastic book had I not decided to give it a try. I was quickly drawn into this futuristic tale that has just enough relation to the present to be viable. Just as I thought I had figured someone or something out – Collins would throw a curve. Needless to say, I devoured the book and was left hanging, thoroughly engrossed. I anxiously awaited Catching Fire, the second book in the trilogy, that came out in September. I am thrilled to tell you, it was even better than The Hunger Games, a feat I thought would be impossible. Now with bated breath I am forced to wait again for the third book.
Have you read it?
